Youth hold protest demanded degree college in Khara Doda | KNO

DODA,JAN 19 (KNO) : Chenab Youth Volunteers (CYA) Khara , Doda today took out a protest march demanding Degree College in their area.The protesters led by their president Nafees Keen along with vice President Faraqat Mir and general secretary Abid Rahman and other people assembled at main market Kahara on Thatri Gundoh road carrying posters displaying “college Hamara Haq Hai, Khara Ko College do”.Addressing the gathering president Nafees Keen said that the college is their right. “The announcement of new colleges by Mehbooba led government has brought a new hopes on our faces. We hope this time justice will be done and the college to be established in our area,” he said. Abid Rehman added: “We have been neglected by the successive and previous governments, but this time we hope that out area will get the college which we are demanding since four decades.”He said that the higher secondary school Malanu Khara has been established many years ago . “And since then no up gradation was made to this institution. Our area has historical background, but for unknown reasons this area is being ignored,” he said.This area has 20 to 25 backwards villages at the distance of 5 to 10 kilometres from Kahara . If the government is sincere to uplift the education of backward villages, then it should fulfill its promise.”It is notable tomention here that Khara area is a part of Inderwal constituency but is attached with Doda district .
